Anyone utterly shocked about Miley Cyrus? Not about twerking, she has to be known for something, but for the fact that she twerked on Robin Thicke, a grown man!
Now for all of you that don’t know what twerking is, twerking is a kind of dry humping/grinding/booty shaking/female form of peacocking that mostly is performed at parties with teenagers and young adults.
Miley Cyrus has certainly taken the world by storm and is most know as playing Hannah Montana, a southern girl with a crazy double life as an international superstar, on DIsney Channel. She reached hundreds of millions of little girls and became an international sensation in real life.
Since ending her show, she’s obviously has tried to leave her kiddy Disney life behind and break into the big leagues. No doubt about it, the girl has talent, BUT like many famous child stars she has taken a turn down a more different path…
Not as extreme as the path of Lindsay Lohan or Amanda Bynes but all are put in a general category. I’m not here to bash Miley Cyrus, just simply wondering where has the girl we all looked up to gone?
Millions of girls looked to her for a role model and she was actually ONE of few positive influential young adults in the acting industry, but now who will they look up to when their role model is twerking on a man almost twice her senior?
You don’t have to stay Hannah Montana forever (ironically that’s what her last Hannah Montana CD was named), but grow gracefully.
You don’t have to pretend to be some prissy, preppy girl who follows all the rules, but don’t go OVERBOARD.
I love Miley Cyrus, truly I do, but as we are close in age, I realize what is appropriate when the world is watching me and what is appropriate behind doors and twerking on Robin Thicke (or twerking in public period, let alone ON LIVE TELEVISION) was just not it.
